Behind the Curtain
There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of time. But it was a beginning.

As the other half of the Resume Lounge team, I am long overdue to make my formal introduction. James has quite a head start on posts as it is. I am a creative IT strategist and an opinionated blogger at Notsocommoncents. During the day, I am a IT strategy consultant with Jabian Consulting, specializing in delivering large scale technical architectures and infrastructure architectures. After hours you can usually find me on a tennis court, connecting with friends, co-workers, blogging, and having conversations in general.
So let’s start at a beginning and we will catch up together.
The idea for the Resume Lounge started off quite differently from my perspective. I was at church with my wife and heard an excellent sermon about service to others that resonated with me. Over the next week, I reached out to James about a non-profit concept geared towards workforce innovation. I also started to grapple with with the notion of aligning my personal and professional goals to fundamentally engage and help people in a transformational way. As our conversations continued we both realized that the lofty goal was simply too large of a problem to tackle all at once. We needed to bite off only what we could chew. As our ideas were shared and discussed, we whittled it down to the bare essentials and that was helping others get their skills and experiences documented in a way that they would actually be seen by hiring managers… and ultimately employed. From that beachhead we could expand to provide other services that scale well with our abilities to provide them. I took some time off to get married, and when I returned from my honeymoon, we were well on our way.
I am thrilled to be applying my expertise and skills to help others. We have a ton of work to do, so I hope you will join us as we try to solve this problem together.
